Andrew Baird - Consultant Urological Surgeon
Overview
I was appointed as a Consultant in Adolescent and Reconstructive Urology in 2007, with my NHS practice at University Hospital Aintree NHS Foundation Trust and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in Liverpool.
I trained in the Mersey Region, graduating from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 1995. My early surgical training was in the Mersey region and North West of England, and I then entered Higher Surgical Training in Urology in Merseyside in 2000, obtaining the FRCSUrol from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2006.
I spent two periods of overseas training, completing a Fellowship of six months at the Brady Urological Institute at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland USA in 2003 and then a visit to the Christian Medical College in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India in 2007 for experience in urethral reconstruction.

Aintree Hospital merged with The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals in 2019 to become Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. My office is found on ward 12 on the Aintree site.
I am also the Care Group Clinical Director for Urology, Vascular Surgery, Transplant Surgery and Private Patients at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
